Artist's Comments

Another shot I made of Saturn and its Moons. Two different AVIs were taken, one normal for Saturn, and one on Low Light mode for the Moons. A non-labeled version can be found here [ [link] ]. Taken around Midnight, maybe 12:30 or so, can't remember exactly.

Taken with a 10" Newtonian on a Dobsonian base. Home made camera bracket and old video camera used to capture, Movie Maker used to import to computer, AVI/MPEG converter used to convert to wmv file to avi, Registax V3 used to process and Photoshop used to fix up.

nice transition of colour across Saturn, okay how about trying for Jupiter, I'm sure it'll be a good one...

I can't get Jupiter yet, my house is surrounded by many trees, so things have to be fairly high in the sky for me to image them. Jupiter is still too low for me =(

Hmm, you've got me thinking now! Previous experience tells me I can image things down to about the 12th magnitude. That should include a few clusters/galaxies/nebulae etc. I might have a track through my magazines and Starry Night to find some nice objects to test (orion nebula is Mag 5 according to starry night). As for Andromeda, unfortunatly it never rises above the trees here! :'( I can get M45 though =D
