Description

I'm really quite pleased with these images, I think they're my best of Jupiter yet. I'm really loving my new planetary camera, the DMK21AU04.AS. And to think - the night these images were taken didn't have very good seeing!

The smaller images were taken with a 2X barlow. The two globes on the left were processed using various deconvolution techniques whilst the two on the right were processed using only wavelet settings in Registax. I'm certainly going to be playing around with more deconvolution settings in the future!

The large globe on the left is a 2X re-sampled smaller globe, nothing too special. The large globe on the right was taken with my 5X Powermate and processed just in Registax.

I'm really very happy with the amount of detail the camera has produced. I'm hoping that if the weather stays fine, I might attempt another animation of Jupiter.

All of these images were taken with my 10" Newtonian telescope on my EQ6 mount. Different magnitude barlow lenses were used (see above) and my DMK21AU04.AS camera was used for capture onto my laptop. I then used Registax for processing (and AstraImage for further processing on some of the images).
